While Western medicine identifies the cause of the disease, removes the aetiology and restores function through medication and surgical treatment, Oriental medicine enhances the body’s immune system and improves the body’s natural healing powers. Therefore, even when there are no abnormalities on examination but the body is in pain, or when the body is not ill but does not feel well, Oriental medicine can balance the body and demonstrate its effectiveness. In particular, acupuncture and moxibustion treatment is recognised and treated all over the world as a source therapy for oriental medicine, which seeks to identify the cause and fundamentally improve the constitution, as opposed to Western medicine’s coping therapies.

In particular, our acupuncture clinic treats many athletes with sports disorders and chronic diseases based on Dr Komatsu’s 30-year experience in the field of sports medicine and its immediate effect on athletes.

Among these, Dr Komatsu’s speciality is mental treatment, which treats a variety of mental disorders such as general complaints (feeling tired but not knowing the cause), depression, panic attacks, hysteria, irritability, physical illness caused by time differences, sleep disorders, anorexia nervosa and emotional instability in both general patients and athletes. Treatment. Acupuncture is suitable for a wide range of conditions, from general back pain and body pain to recovery after surgery, internal organ adjustment, hormonal balance, autonomic nervous system, gynaecological disorders and infertility. In order to maintain the effects of acupuncture and moxibustion, we also prescribe easy-to-take Chinese herbal medicines and simple exercise therapies that can be done at home, such as athlete rehabilitation, for general patients.

We use oriental medicine-based therapies such as acupuncture, moxibustion and Chinese herbal medicines to maximise the self-immunity that each person possesses, and carefully treat acute and chronic illnesses with the aim of improving the constitution.

Difference between needles and acupuncture

When we think of needles, we think of injection needles or sewing needles, which of course seem painful when they sting. However, the needles used in treatment are as thin as a hair (the thinnest in the world) and are hardly felt even when they are inserted. The human skin has warm, cold and sore points, and when these are stimulated, they can be felt to some extent, but basically acupuncture does not cause pain.

In addition, there is what is commonly referred to as an “acupuncture echo”, which is a heavy, dull sensation felt deep inside the needle, but generally athletes are not good at pain and echoes, so the clinic provides gentle, completely painless treatment without deep needles.

The needles used in acupuncture are about one-fifth the thickness of needles used for injections and are often made of stainless steel. In the past, many acupuncture needles were made of gold or silver, but today, for hygienic reasons, one-time disposable needles (stainless steel disposable needles) are more popular, and to prevent them being used by other patients and infection, the clinic uses Japanese Ceylin disposable needles, which are used only once. The acupuncture needles are used during treatment.

During treatment, the needles are placed in a plastic tube called an acupuncture tube, which is placed over the acupuncture points (skin) and inserted instantaneously, thereby minimising pain. This technique, when practised, can minimise pain regardless of the thickness of the needles or the location of the needles. The tips of the needles are rounded so as not to destroy the cells, another characteristic of acupuncture needles that differentiates them from needles.

When you hear the word ‘acupuncture’, you may first imagine that it will be painful, but modern acupuncture needles have been newly created for this purpose after the advancement of science and medicine.

Please try our acupuncture treatment, which is the best of Japanese technology and has an immediate and painless effect.
